The Flint Cottage Kitchen

A small but perfectly formed bespoke kitchen nestled at the back of Flint Cottage, and a little inspiration that you don’t need a massive amount of space to create beautiful interiors.

The room is painted in the deep, moody shade ‘Livid’ by Little Greene – described as sitting somewhere between blue, green and grey and that is certainly true! The colour is softened by the light which floods the room in the morning and the soft natural tones of the Carrara marble worktop. Using the same colour throughout the cabinetry, walls and ceiling has not only created atmosphere but also the illusion of more space. A ribbed glass industrial wall light from Industville adds a lovely ambience and complements the interior beautifully.

A run of timeless shaker style cabinetry sits overlooking the garden, with brass classic square cup handles pairing so beautifully with the colour palette. And we’ve got to mention the Perrin and Rowe handcrafted Polaris instant hot tap in a gorgeous aged brass! Tucked behind these handcrafted doors and drawer fronts you will also find an integrated dishwasher and pull out bin – hiding these appliances when and where you can creates a clean, sleek run of cabinetry.

A favourite corner for me has to be the open storage unit tucked in the corner between two windows – a space to inject your personality into the room and have fun dressing the space differently throughout the seasons. You could fill the shelves with your most tried and tested cook books, crockery passed through generations or a vase full of flowers!

So that’s the Flint Cottage kitchen! A dream project and the perfect example that you don’t need loads of room to create your ideal space.
