March 2022Our aesthetic at Joseph John is to create bespoke cabinetry that belongs, with designs that are made to stand the test of time both in function and style.
Our approach is timeless – shaker cabinets with traditional ironmongery, solid wood framework and doors and a hand painted finish.
Our cabinets are hand finished on site in the chosen colour – the brush strokes a sign of the craftsmanship and attention to detail we pride ourselves on. A hand painted finish is the perfect compliment to a shaker kitchen – its natural finish adding character to the space and enhancing the bespoke nature of our work.
A hand painted finish has many benefits – the colour can be topped up and maintained as your kitchen is used and enjoyed over the years, and the colour can also be changed further down the line. It brings flexibility and adds longevity to the design. Knocks or scuffs are easily repaired with a sand down and a touch up of paint.
We work with oil-based paints when possible – favouring the quality of finish it creates. There’s no limit or restriction to colours for your cabinets – a shade can be mixed up in a colour match if need be. With no limitations, there is freedom to design and create a space they truly reflects your style and personality.

The main areas we cover are in West Sussex, however we are happy to travel further afield.

Our interior design service provides you with the inspiration and knowledge to transform a space beyond the cabinetry – from colour palettes and wallpaper suggestions, to the finish and fixtures of each element with the room; our keen eye for design, love of colour and passion for interiors at Joseph John encouraged us to offer a service beyond our bespoke cabinetry.
