Sussex Farmhouse Bootroom and Utility
Steyning | Cabinetry Design Service
Handcrafted cabinetry designed for this beautiful bespoke utility room and bootroom space in a farmhouse within the South Downs. Shaker doors hung on antique brass butt hinges – a timeless design made to stand the test of time. The utility space is hand painted in ‘Cook’s Blue’ by Farrow & Ball – bright and bold with heritage routes we adore this colour and the charm it brings to the space. A collection of cupboards and spacious solid oak drawers form the cabinetry design, including the centre piece – our freestanding island.
Our shaker cabinets look truly at home, and in our eyes are the perfect compliment to the history of the house. Our bootroom cabinetry is fitted and scribed around the old beams as if it’s been there for years passed. A lovely long seat curves around the room with pigeon holes below for shoes, boots and baskets filled with hats and gloves. Brass ironmongery is used throughout the space and works beautifully with Farrow and Ball’s ‘Borrowed Light’ – a delicate shade of blue. This bespoke utility and bootroom has such character and soul – what a wonderful project to have worked on.
